Wasp started forming 22 years ago in the asbestos and HAZMAT removal industry of the late 1980’s firstly in Australia, then Europe, eventually project managing and coordinating large and prestigious industrial wet abrasive blasting contracts overseas. We believe ( as many other health and safety, blasting inspection and environmental professionals do) that wet abrasive blasting is the way of the future in blasting and these rigs continually prove themselves. On returning to Australia where dedicated wet blasting systems were virtually unknown we quickly made a name for ourselves with the top tier builders as a company that could perform the kind of work a lot of conventional surface preparation and blasting companies could not, especially in the area of large scale industrial HAZMAT, paint and chemical contamination removal and work in sensitive environments, due to the dust and waste mitigating properties of our systems and our long background in contamination containment and materials removal and management. One of our clients recently won the Master Builders Association Award for Innovation in Health and Safety for using our wet blast systems and crew to remove 24,000 m2 of lead paint.
